Behind the numbers

What is an options price calculator?

An options price calculator estimates what an option, or a combination of options, could be worth at different stock prices and dates before it expires. It turns a trade idea into numbers: how much you risk, where you break even, and how time and volatility change the outcome - before you commit real money to the trade.

This calculator prices every leg with the Cox-Ross-Rubinstein (CRR) binomial model, which steps the time to expiration into small increments and checks for early exercise at each one - the detail a plain Black-Scholes formula skips, and the reason it matters for American-style options like deep in-the-money puts or short calls held through a dividend.

It runs entirely in manual input mode: you type in your own strikes, premiums, and expirations, and the chart and table update instantly as you adjust them, showing max profit, max loss, and breakeven at a glance. Nothing is sent to a server - your calculation history stays in your browser. Build the position yourself, or open one of the strategy guides to start from a template and run its numbers with your own stock and strikes.

There's no account, no subscription, and no paywall - Options Price Calculator is free to use, directly in your browser.
